In case anyone is wondering, it is considered safe for breastfeeding women to wear bullet-proof vests. Actually, I was looking for info on the safety of tattooing for lactating women when I found the bullet-proof vest bit. I had thought that it was not safe for breastfeeding women to get tattoos, but KellyMom and LLL both list it as safe, stating that ink doesn't pass into breast milk. I've been waiting a long time to get another tattoo.

I have too! I thought the same thing, and had been putting it off because we're still nursing.
Ink, no problem. Hepatitis or other blood-borne illness, more of a worry.
Obviously, having your tat done by a very reputable artist who uses disposable needles or can show you the gun coming out of the autoclave is what you must look for. I would love some new ink myself! Happy tattooing!
